I am an artist painting in acrylics and oils. I've studied for the past 10 years at the Art Student's League of New York. I express myself well with color. I have a shop on Etsy where I sell my paintings, small and large. You are invited to come browse, https://www.etsy.com/shop/modernimpressionist and you may see more of my paintings at my website: christineparkerart.com.

Hot sauce

Carol Marine from a Daily Paintworks started a challenge to paint the same subject in different mediums. The idea is the more you do this, the more you learn. Here’s my first two tries.

Still life with cherries

My sketchbook paintings are usually alla prima to catch the passing light before it has moved on. I got interested in the colors and reflections on the white plate on this one and had to keep moving the chair closer to me to keep the light on the same areas. Then I finished up with an artists light on it. I loved doing this for all the color I found.
